Content & Audience Editor (3-Month Contract)
Part-time | Remote | 3-month contract | $25/hour
About Gotham Literature
Gotham Literature is a digital-first literary magazine with a mission to make literature more accessible for readers and more financially sustainable for writers. We publish short-form fiction, poetry, and comics that can be enjoyed in under five minutes, allowing readers to engage with writing in the same bite-sized way they consume other forms of digital media. Writers earn ongoing income from their work through a share of the subscription, advertising, event, and merchandising revenue their content generates.
Founded in 2025, Gotham Literature brings modern media strategies to the world of literary publishing. Since launching, we’ve built an audience of thousands of readers and secured funding from The New York Public Library’s StartUp! Competition. Our subscription model will launch in the first half of 2026, followed by other revenue streams later in the year.

You’ll be responsible for helping Gotham Literature identify and publish standout short-form literature, and share it in ways that resonate with a growing digital audience. This is a hands-on, collaborative role ideal for someone who’s editorially sharp and digitally fluent.
